The Other Side

From a distance
what seems
like moon on a dark night.

Turns a 100 shades of new colours
each colour
a lash on black and white.

Dreams, hopes, smiles, strengths
set ablaze
but the story doesn't end here.

Anger, hurt, sadness, pride
burn bright
like dust settled in the eyes.

Two parallel worlds,
Two polar lives,
Two different minds.

Yet it's neither black nor white
mine, yours and theirs
dark other side.

She left
Today she came to me after a long, long time. She doesn’t come to me regularly anymore; the way she used to. I missed her eyes the most. Brown, moist, so full of questions.
She wanted to break free. I know. I could tell. But I couldn’t do anything about it. I hadn’t tied her up to myself. I just kept her back. On the contrary, I wanted her to make a choice and be clear within herself. That’s why I didn’t give her freedom earlier. What if she had left earlier and then regretted leaving it all behind? So I made her stay longer; against her wishes. But now, her bags were packed. And she was ready to leave, and go.

No. Running away from a bad marriage is not a sin for me. And I’m God.

Knock Not
She lingered for a while. Her drooping shoulders, desolate eyes, sullen face were all of no avail. Didn’t he need her at all? She had knocked on his door … twice … against her nature. Look at him – he was happy.
So, opportunity walked away. But who cared?
